Fresh Spring Home Décor Ideas To Welcome the Season 20th Feb 2025 Posted by Alice Ewens on 20th Feb 2025 Facebook Instagram Pinterest Linkedin Spring is the perfect time to breathe new life into your home décor. As the days get longer and the flowers start to bloom, it's the ideal moment to refresh your space. In this week’s blog I take at look at some quick wins that can inject some freshness. And, I pick out some key 2025 interiors trends that I think work really well for spring but that will easily adapt and evolve to suit all the seasons. Quick Spring Refresh Wins I’m a big fan of quick wins when it comes to décor updates. Some staple and timeless pieces can be updated with the seasons with some seasonal accents. I reckon you can work magic with some well-placed lighting and accessories! The easiest and most-budget friendly way to refresh your home for spring is to focus on throws, pillows, and accessories. Swap out heavy winter throws for lighter, breathable fabrics in pastel colours. Add a few new pillows with floral or geometric patterns to your sofa or bed. Accessories like vases, candles, and artwork can also help to update your space. Choose pieces that reflect the spring season, such as ceramic vases in soft hues or botanical prints for your walls. A few strategic mirrors in gold, silver or white frames can bounce natural light around to make you space feel sunnier. Spring palettes lean to the soft pastels and lighter natural tones, so add a few pastel-toned accessories to your wooden dining table, with some breezy linen table runners and a jug of dried lavender or fresh tulips. Adding spring flower bouquets all around your space is a really quick and easy way to inject some spring vibes! Image credit: Pinterest Florals Are A Timeless Spring Staple I touched on this above, but florals are synonymous with spring, and in 2025, they're more vibrant and versatile than ever. You can stick with vases full of cheerful blooms or you can incorporate florals in a bigger way that taps into some key 2025 trends and instantly uplift your space. You can go big and bold with oversized floral prints, for a maximalist look. Delicate floral patterns can work well for a farmhouse kitchen look or tap into the big 2025 Rococo Revival trend (more on that below). Consider floral wallpaper for a statement wall, or add floral cushions and throws to your living room for a subtle touch of spring. Image credit: Dupe Regency and Rococo Revival This year, we're seeing a resurgence of regency and rococo styles -think Bridgerton meets Versailles – which is a light, airy look that still packs a punch. This style is big on luxury, decadence with an bright, light colour palette of pastels and florals coupled with ornate scrolled accents and gilded gold. This is why I think it’s a great style for spring and summer. It can be a pretty full-on look for most modern homes that aren’t as spacious as a palace, but you can incorporate a few touches and nods to this look without it looking like a Faberge egg threw up on your living room. Look for pieces with curved lines, floaty cottons and silks, draped velvets, and rich textures. A white coffee table with gold legs, a gold ornate wall mirror, some floral decorative pieces and a few pastel ‘Wedgewood blue’ accents in pillows or throws will add a sense of grandeur and sophistication. @carlyspinkfairytale shows how easy it can be to bring in some spring influenced Regency and Rococo touches without overwhelming the home and keeping it modern. Add Spring Brightness To Warm Neutrals Pairing trending warm neutrals with vibrant spring colours like pink and orange can create a stunning and harmonious look. Beige, cream, taupe, and soft browns provide a perfect backdrop that allows the brighter hues to shine without overwhelming the space. For instance, you can start with a neutral base by using beige walls or a taupe sofa, then add pops of pink and orange through accessories like cushions, throws, and artwork. You can even add a tan or burnt orange sofa and then dress it with delicate pink soft furnishings. This combination not only brings a fresh and lively feel to your home but also maintains a sense of balance and sophistication. Neutrals with a pink undertone work really well with lighter wood pieces, cream and pink-tinged accessories. The addition of the artificial blossom tree really makes this look spring-like. Green And Black Interiors Made Fresh For Spring Black wood and green has been a trending colour combination for a while now, but often forms part of a more industrial or dark Scandi look. However, green and black can create a striking and fresh look for spring, especially when paired with subtle pinks. This recreates the colours seen in blossoms on the trees, so it really softens an otherwise darker look. Add clear or pink-tinged glass vases full of magnolia blossoms, stargazer lilies or orchids to you dark wood counter tops or black wood dining tables. Pair with green velvet dining chairs and pink and white accessories. This look isn’t just for spring but also ensures a timeless appeal as the seasons shift. As summer approaches, the green and black palette can be complemented with lush foliage and tropical plants, maintaining a fresh and lively atmosphere. In autumn and winter, the same combination can be warmed up with cosy textures and additional earthy tones, making it a versatile choice for year-round décor. Spruce Up Your Outdoor Space For Spring There might only be 3 days of sunshine this year but having somewhere to make the most of your outdoor space, on the rare occasion it’s sunny, can really help your home feel bright and breezy for spring. A simple 2 seat metal bistro set is a quick and easy way to extend your living space outdoors, even if you’ve got a really overgrown garden or just a small balcony to work with. This will give you somewhere to enjoy some fresh air and a spring morning brunch! Start by selecting a bistro set in a colour that complements your garden or patio. Place it on a durable, weather-resistant outdoor rug to add colour or pattern to the space. The rug not only defines the seating area but also elevates the space from something bunged in a corner to something that looks more deliberate and put-together. Add a small vase of flowers or a potted plant beside the table. This setup is perfect for enjoying morning coffee, afternoon tea, or evening drinks while soaking in the beauty of the season. As the weather warms up, you can easily switch out the rug or add cushions to the chairs for a quick refresh, ensuring your outdoor space remains inviting and comfortable throughout the year.
